‘Lola’, 2020
Painted in November of 2020. “The year 2020 has made me paint a lot faster, with more quick decisive brushstrokes. 2020 — the year of global pandemic — showed us that life is precious, and no time should be wasted”, says Natasha. ‘Lola’ is about raw energy; it is about movement, color, texture and emotion. The woman in the painting is confident, strong, determined, urban. Bright blocks of color, accompanied by graffiti paint drips bring this painting to life, while highlights of bright blue add electric energy to the overall work. This work was inspired by people and art seen around the city of San Jose, California, San Francisco Bay Area.
